Welcome ! A Moss House emphasizes adaptability and functionality packaged in a meticulously-designed and crafted off-grid structure. Our houses are made for a wide variety of uses: to extend space in an existing home, to serve as a holiday house, office retreat, or even a permanent dwelling for year-round eco-conscious living.

Designed with sustainability in mind, Moss Houses are carbon negative, airtight and cozy. Our houses are built with a Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structure and super insulating wood fiber – both environmentally-friendly materials. From the production side, we’ve streamlined the design and fabrication process to deliver a high quality, thoughtful small space.

We created Moss Houses as an alternative to the generally time-consuming and confusing process of building a high-end, architecturally designed home. 

Meticulous functionality is pre-designed into our base models so that we are able to focus on a client’s specific needs and preferences from the start, simplifying the process and expediting the timeline. From initial consultation to installation at your site, a Moss House can be delivered in just twelve short weeks.

FAQ

  • CLT, or Cross Laminated Timber, revolutionizes wood construction with its cost-effectiveness, speed of production, and a strength that rivals concrete and steel while also being eco-friendly. Moss Houses use PEFC-certified wood to ensure responsible forest management, giving environmentally-conscious customers peace of mind.

  • Shipping costs will be calculated based on final delivery destination and the Moss model you choose. Prices can range from 3,000 to 10,000 euros, inclusive of crane services and on-site delivery.

  • The installation time can vary depending on your specific site conditions, but in most cases, it takes between half a day to two full days.

  • Absolutely. You can customise a wide range of features in the home, including colours, materials, furniture, and layout.

  • While we strive to adhere to passive house principles, Moss is not officially a certified passive house. However, the construction techniques and materials we use are very much in line with passive house standards, maximizing energy efficiency and sustainability wherever we can.

  • Our houses are engineered to endure the test of time. We conservatively estimate the life of a Moss House to span over 100 years.
